Bold Soul Scoop: Coffee Measuring Tool Care

Quick Answer

Clean your Bold Soul Scoop after each use with mild soap and warm water, and store it in a dry place to prevent rust and maintain accuracy.

How to Care for Your Bold Soul Scoop

1. Rinse After Each Use: Immediately after measuring, rinse the scoop under warm running water to remove coffee grounds and oils. Avoid using abrasive scrubbers that could scratch the surface. Common mistake: letting coffee residue dry on the scoop makes cleaning harder and can affect future measurements.
2. Wash with Mild Soap Weekly: Once a week, wash the scoop with mild dish soap and warm water. Use a soft sponge or cloth. For the bag clip area, use a small brush to dislodge any trapped grounds. Avoid harsh chemicals or bleach — they can damage the finish and leave residues that taint your coffee.
3. Dry Thoroughly Before Storing: After washing, dry the scoop completely with a clean towel. Pay extra attention to the clip hinge and any crevices where moisture can hide. Storing a damp scoop can lead to rust or mold. Always ensure it's bone-dry before putting it away.
4. Store in a Dry, Clean Place: Keep your scoop in a drawer, cabinet, or on a hook away from moisture and heat. The built-in clip can be used to attach the scoop to your coffee bag for convenient access. Storing near the stove or sink exposes the scoop to steam and splashes, accelerating wear.
